If you are having difficulty coping with life's problems, or experiencing a sense of unhappiness, choosing counseling is a brave choice. When we feel in control of our lives and less troubled, we feel better mentally, physically, and spiritually.

If you are interested in LPC licensure and need supervision hours, Donna Henry, LPC-S is a State of Alaska Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and offers masters degree individuals supervision toward the LPC. Both individual and group supervision are offered. If you are interested in becoming a Registered Play Therapist and would like supervision, please contact me.

Your first visit starts with a comprehensive assessment. We take the time to explore the unique challenges that you may be facing. Treatment is based on your needs and your individual goals for counseling.
Telehealth allows you to have your session from almost anywhere! The telehealth platform used is HIPAA and HITECH compliant. I will send you a link before each session. For confidentiality purposes, you will need a private space where you can talk openly.

Play therapy is an effective, clinically proven tool used in counseling to help children work through problems that are difficult to talk about. Examples of some of those issues are trauma, depression, low self-esteem, school issues, and anger.
I am a LPC-S, NCC, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) with the Association for Play Therapy and am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and Filial Family Play Therapy among others. I have presented internationally on Culturally Competent Play Therapy using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and CCPT.

Personal information that may be collected from you when you call or text includes your name, phone number and potential scheduling for an appointment. No other personal information will be communicated between you and your counselor via text. No personal information is collected on this website. When someone is verbally accepted as a client, they are directed to a secure HIPAA and HITECH compliant website.
b.) Purpose for Collecting Personal Information
The purpose for which your contact information will be used: 1) to coordinate appointments; 2) to communicate any changes to scheduling. Again, NO personal information will be shared via text.

Donna Henry is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor, and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Donna provides mental health counseling and substance abuse treatment to 
individuals and families, including play therapy to youth ages 2+. Telehealth services only are being offered at this time.
Donna approaches counseling from a strength-based perspective using a trauma-informed approach. Other modalities used are cognitive-behavioral therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, mindfulness, and play therapy for younger clients. Counseling services are offered to address issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and difficulty coping with life’s problems.
Play therapy is used to address issues such as depression, self-esteem, social anxiety, ADHD related difficulties, anger management, trauma and abuse, and FAS/D related issues. Donna is trained in Trauma-focused CBT, Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and Filial Family Play Therapy among others. She has presented internationally on Using Aut-Play in Therapy and Culturally Competent Play Therapy using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and CCPT.
